Donna Balo is a Certified Nurse-Midwife and a member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives. She is licensed in the state of Florida as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner and earned her midwifery degree at The Institute of Midwifery, Women and Health. Donna has a Master of Science degree in Midwifery from Philadelphia University and is trained as a sexual assault examiner. She completed her nursing education at Daytona Beach Community College and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business at Western Illinois University. She has experience as a labor and delivery nurse and has worked in hospitals and birth centers. Donna has privileges at Florida Hospital.

 

Donna’s fascination with pregnancy and birth were sparked by her own pregnancy and continued throughout the births of her four children. She has facilitated classes in early pregnancy, childbirth preparation, sibling preparation and parenting. Additionally, she has facilitated human sexuality and life choice skill classes for public school and college students and was an adjunct faculty clinical instructor for nursing students at Daytona Beach Community College.

 

In addition to assisting women through pregnancy and childbirth, Donna performs well woman exams and educates women about health—from puberty to menopause. She was the Florida representative for the American College of Nurse-Midwives Teen Health Requires Interaction, Values and Education, in Washington, DC.
